Hey, I’m Josh Cecil—founder of Co-Captain Creative and your behind-the-scenes partner in storytelling that actually means something.

Before launching Co-Captain, I spent eight years in the classroom teaching high school English, Film Lit, Mass Media, and Entrepreneurship. Eventually, I realized I wanted to stop just teaching storytelling—I wanted to live it. So I picked up a camera and started helping small businesses bring their brand stories to life through video.

Over the last six years, I’ve partnered with an eclectic mix of clients: a retail board game shop, a funeral home brand with deep community roots, a major car dealership, a YouTube influencer, an inflatables rental company, and even a concert promoter. No matter the industry, my goal is always the same: tell meaningful stories that drive real results.

I don’t do fluff. I don’t chase vanity metrics. I believe in strategic content with a purpose—and I work best with brands that have a strong sense of identity but need a co-captain to help navigating the narrative.
